Title: A further twist on functionCopper(I)-thiolate cluster assembly and metal selectivity bias in metallothionein-3
Gabriele Meloni obtained a M.S. in Biotechnology from the University of Milan and a Ph.D in Bioinorganic Chemistry (with Prof. Milan Vašák) from the University of Zurich, Switzerland. He subsequently investigated the chemistry and structural biology of metal transmembrane transporters as postdoctoral scholar at the California Institute of Technology (with Prof. Douglas C. Rees) and Aarhus University (with Prof. Poul Nissen). He joined the University of Texas at Dallas in 2015, where is now an Associate professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry, leading a research group focusing on the structural and reactivity characterization of metalloproteins and metal transporters.
