Biography:

Christoph Fahrni earned a master’s degree in chemistry from the Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Basel (Switzerland), and a master’s degree of music (piano performance) from the Conservatory of Lucerne (Switzerland). After pursuing postdoctoral studies at Northwestern University, he joined the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1999. During his 22-year tenure at the Georgia Institute of Technology, he has built a research program in bioinorganic chemistry with an emphasis on developing tools for studying trace metals in biological systems.
